Altius Education, Inc ("Altius") is committed to respecting your online privacy and recognizes your need for appropriate protection and management of any personally identifiable information ("Personal Information") you share with us through the Internet. This privacy policy governs the collection and use of Personal Information you provide to Altius or its subsidiaries or affiliates through one or more websites owned or controlled by Altius or its subsidiaries or affiliates, including the websites for Ivy Bridge College of Tiffin University located at ivybridge.tiffin.edu and Mt Lyon Institute of Tiffin University located at mtlyon.tiffin.edu (referred to herein as a "Site" or the "Sites"). As used herein, "we" or "us" refers to Altius and its subsidiaries and affiliates.

Information Collected

We collect various types of Personal Information through our Site(s). Some of this Personal Information is collected automatically through various Web and Internet technologies, including Social Networking tools used by Altius to foster communication and collaboration among members of our community. Other Personal Information is collected when you provide it in response to an advertisement, a survey, a request for Personal Information, when you register for our educational or other services, or when you set up a Social Network profile. As used herein, "Social Network" means various Internet communication technologies provided on our Sites that facilitate conversation and interaction between people online and include, but are not limited to, blogs, discussion forums, wikis, chat sessions, news groups, etc.

With respect to the exact type of information that we may collect from you voluntarily when you respond to an advertisement or survey, register for our educational or other services, set up a Social Network profile, request Information regarding one of our educational programs, etc. the following is a non-exclusive list of the types of Information that may be collected to the extent it is necessary and applicable for the intended purposes:

Information Uses and Sharing

We may collect, use and disclose Personal Information for the following purposes:

  • to determine your admissibility and to register you for your selected educational programs;
  • to provide requested products and services;
  • to respond to your inquiries;
  • to administer promotions to which you have indicated an interest;
  • for our internal marketing purposes, which includes, but is not limited to, sending you material about products, services, updates, etc. that we think may be of interest to you;
  • for fostering communication and collaboration among members of the Altius community through Social Networks;
  • for sharing with our educational partners who are subsidiaries or affiliates of Altius ("Education Partners") who may contact you with respect to their educational or marketing services
  • for sharing with our third party service providers who are performing services on our behalf;
  • to analyze how Sites and services are being accessed and used;

  • to obtain payment for services that we provide to you;

  • to provide to third parties in connection with the contemplated or actual reorganization, merger, acquisition, financing, securitization, insuring, sale or other disposal of all or part of our business or assets, including for the purposes of determining whether to proceed with such transaction or fulfilling any records or other reporting requirements to such parties. In the event of any actual reorganization, merger, or acquisition such Information may be transferred as part of the transaction to the acquirer;
  • and/or as may be required or permitted by legal, regulatory, industry self-regulatory, insurance, audit, or security requirements applicable to Altius or our Educational Partners.

Use of Cookies and Pixels

Altius uses pixels provided by a third party to track the inquiries by potential students obtained from advertising on the Sites. Furthermore, Altius uses cookies provided to Altius by a third party that are placed on the computer of each potential student and student that clicks on an advertisement so that future advertisements can be targeted to that potential student or student based on the advertisements clicked on by that potential student or student.

What are Cookies?

A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a web site, that web site's computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each web site can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser's preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a web site to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

Location of Information Processing

We are located in the United States and your information is collected, used, disclosed, stored and processed in the United States for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Please be advised that, if you are located outside of the United States and use our Sites, your Information may be transferred across borders and will be subject to the laws of other jurisdictions.

Opt-Out

You can choose to no longer receive marketing communications from us and you may express your choice where indicated on the applicable email or other communication or click here to opt out. Please note, however, that such a request will only remove you from our list and the list of any third party service provider performing services on our behalf. We are not responsible for the use any other party may make of the Information once it has been transferred in accordance with this Policy and you will need to contact such entity to have your Information removed from their database.

Security

We will take commercially reasonable measures to secure and store your Personal Information to protect against the loss, misuse, and alteration of the Information under our control. We utilize industry standard security measures during your registration or other transaction you have initiated with us, as well as whenever we ask you to login to any of our Site(s). While we cannot guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration to data will not occur; we make every effort to prevent such occurrences.

How Can You Access and Correct Your Information?

Your Responsibilities

You are responsible for the security of your account information, such as usernames and passwords, which give you access to your private information maintained by us. Make sure you keep your account information in a safe place and do not share it with others. Note that key-loggers, viruses, or other surveillance devices can intercept login information on the computers from which you access our website, so you should take precautions regarding such devices, especially from public computers.

Compromise of Personal Information

In the event that your personally identifiable information is compromised as a result of a known or suspected breach of security, we will promptly notify those persons whose personal information has been compromised, in accordance with the notification procedures set forth in this privacy policy, or as otherwise required by applicable law.

Notification Procedures

It is our policy to provide notifications, whether such notifications are required by law or are for marketing or other business related purposes, to our users via e-mail notice, written or hard copy notice, or through conspicuous posting of such notice on our web site page, as determined by us in its sole discretion. Notwithstanding the foregoing, we reserve the right to determine the form and means of providing notifications to our web site users.

What About Other Web Sites Linked to Our Web Site?

We are not responsible for the practices employed by web sites linked to or from our Sites nor the information or content contained therein. Often links to other web sites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our Sites.

Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Sites to another Web site, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other web site, including web sites which have a link on our Sites, is subject to that web site's own rules and policies. Your Consent

The Privacy Policy set out above is effective as of the date set forth above, and applies to all information previously obtained by us. Student Educational Records

If you are or subsequently become a student at one of our Educational Partners, your educational records are subject to the U.S. federal Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), state laws and other policies of such Educational Partner. Students have the right to limit access to FERPA-defined directory Information about them. To obtain a copy of the FERPA policy of the applicable Educational Partner, please contact the registrar's or admission's office of such Educational Partner for more information.
