Filing your FAFSA
These are the steps you should take to assure you receive your financial aid:
- To get started in the FAFSA filing process, students must apply for a Personal Identification Number (PIN). If you have not already done so, apply for your PIN at www.pin.ed.gov today! Your PIN will allow you to complete your FAFSA on-line and sign your form electronically. The student and parent (if considered a dependent student), will both need their own separate PIN so the student and one parent should have a PIN.
- File your 2008-2009 FAFSA form as soon as possible! You may file your form on-line at www.fafsa.ed.gov. Applying on-line is the fastest and easiest way of filing, however if you do not wish to file your form on-line, please call our financial aid office toll free at 866-944-4228 ext. 3514 so that we can mail you a paper application.
- Remember: When you fill out the FAFSA form, it will ask you what school you plan on attending. Ivy Bridge College of Tiffin University's school code is 003121. You may list up to six schools that you would like to receive your FAFSA information.
- In order to file the FAFSA you will need Federal tax information for the 2007 tax year. You may estimate the tax information if your taxes are not completed. Do not wait too long to file your FAFSA form. Some states and financial aid offices require you to submit your FAFSA form by a deadline. Please refer to the FAFSA form to determine the deadline for your state of residence.
After you file your FAFSA, you should receive a Student Aid Report (SAR). The SAR summarizes the information you submitted on the FAFSA. If you do not receive your SAR within a reasonable amount of time, call the federal processor at 1-800-433-3243. Review the SAR carefully for errors. If you find errors, you may make the corrections on the FAFSA website, or call the Ivy Bridge College's Financial Aid office at 866-944-4228 ext. 3514.
