Program Overview

At Ivy Bridge College of Tiffin University, we pride ourselves on educating students to become successful in their future careers or academic programs. As a student at Ivy Bridge you’ll develop specific intellectual abilities such as writing, speaking, quantitative reasoning, technical proficiency, critical thinking, and career readiness that are integrated into all of your classes and assignments.

To ensure that you receive a full education, Ivy Bridge’s degree programs include courses from three key areas—the knowledge skills core, your academic major coursework, and open electives.

Knowledge Skills Core

A sound educational experience begins with developing the connected abilities of understanding and communicating. Some of the most important abilities you’ll master at Ivy Bridge College are how to write and speak with clarity and to read and listen with comprehension and a critical spirit. The complexity of today’s advanced technologies, increased emphasis on communication, and the necessity of being able to think logically, critically, and analytically make acquiring both verbal and quantitative skills an important aspect of any education. The courses in the knowledge skills core present you with the liberal arts and general education you need to develop these important skills you can put to use in any professional field.

Academic Major Coursework

Choosing a professional major as an area of emphasis provides you with the opportunity to study an interest or specialization in depth. While enrolled in Ivy Bridge’s associate degree programs, you’ll choose an area of emphasis and begin taking sophomore-level courses in that major. By integrating your major area of study into your general education coursework, you’ll begin to see how your major relates to other disciplines and understand it within a larger social and ethical context.

Open Electives

In order to help and encourage you to explore interests that live outside of your area of emphasis, Ivy Bridge College’s degree programs also allow you to choose elective courses that work towards your degree. This broadens the scope of your knowledge to other fields and allows you to study topics and academic areas you may find useful in the future.
