Advantages of Online Learning at Ivy Bridge College

Enjoy an engaging and interactive online learning experience

Everyone knows that one of the main benefits of online learning is the convenience, but at Ivy Bridge College our online classes offer more than that. While learning at Ivy Bridge, you’ll experience online courses that allow you to join enriching discussions with your fellow students, work on group projects that are translatable to real-life professional situations, and meet one-on-one with your professors.

Online flexibility so you can make your own schedule

Ivy Bridge’s classes have assignments that are due on specific days of each week, but you can complete them when it’s convenient for you. On average, expect to spend 1.5–2 hours each day for each course. That means if you’re taking two courses, that’s about 3–4 hours each day for a total of about 25 hours a week.

Courses optimized for online environments

A lot of online schools take the curriculum and content from an in-person course and simply translate it over into an online setting. At Ivy Bridge, we’ve read the research on how students learn best while taking courses online and structured our classes to make it easier for you to be successful.

Each of our online courses is seven-weeks long and the content of your courses is divided up into sections, making it easier for you to master content in stages and fit coursework in with your schedule. If you get stuck or need extra support, there are also multiple resources including free tutoring and online office hours with instructors.

Assignments that add variety to your learning

A typical week for an Ivy Bridge student includes a reading assignment, a lecture that the instructor has prepared, and an assignment which allows you to demonstrate how well you’ve mastered the material for that week. You’ll also take part in enriching online discussion forums, where you’ll discuss the material you’re studying, ask questions, and share insights with your fellow students and instructors.

Remember, just because courses are online doesn't mean they're easier than in-person courses.

There’s a myth that online courses are somehow easier than taking classes in person. Ask any online student, and he or she will tell you that it’s completely untrue.

At Ivy Bridge, you’ll have a lot of support from your professors, success coach, tutors, and fellow students but keep in mind that this is an accredited, rigorous degree program. We pride ourselves on making sure every student who graduates from Ivy Bridge is well-educated and prepared to transfer to a four-year school or step into a successful career.
