Meet some of the tutors that make up Ivy Bridge College’s program:
Stacie Nowak
Stacie Nowak has been tutoring for Ivy Bridge College since August of 2011. She currently tutors CIS 101, CIS 111, and SCS 110. In 2007, she earned a bachelor’s of education with a focus in early childhood. Then, while teaching pre-kindergarten, she earned her master’s of education with a reading endorsement. Stacie’s original plan was to teach young children; and she never expected that she would enjoy teaching college students and adult learners. However, once she started working for Ivy Bridge, she soon realized that working with older students gave her an immense amount of fulfillment.
Tricia Salata
Tricia Salata currently teaches and tutors ENG 141 and ENG 142. She graduated with a bachelor's in liberal studies from Bowling Green State University in Ohio. While there, she participated in a study abroad program in Rome, Italy and recently graduated with her master's degree in English from the University of Toledo, also in Ohio. She has been teaching writing classes for about three years now and has a strong interest in language and how it functions. She feels that being able to think critically, speak correctly, and write persuasively are all related and believes that being able to communicate effectively is a crucial skill in any setting. Tricia is currently working on another degree in business, so while she is tutoring she is also a student too.
George Hudak
George Hudak currently tutors MAT 100, MAT 174, MAT 273, and ACCT 201. George has been a math and statistics tutor at Owens Community College for over ten years. He has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics and a master’s degree in engineering-science from the University of Toledo. George is also an adjunct math instructor at Owens Community College, Monroe County Community College, and the University of Toledo.
Mark Schrock
Mark Schrock is the Director of Tutoring Services and has been with Ivy Bridge since May of 2011. He is a retired public school teacher who has found a second career at Ivy Bridge College. Mark has a bachelor’s of science in journalism and English education and a master's degree in education with a focus in athletic administration. Both degrees are from Bowling Green State University.

“It is a great feeling knowing that you can both help a student with their classwork and also provide some emotional support. This is something that I believe Ivy Bridge College does the best. We don’t just wait for a student to call, we reach out to them. All I can say is that it is the most wonderful feeling being able to help individuals try and reach their goals.”
